“Welcome to wherever you are!” is how Salme Dahlstrom begins her album. And this wherever sounds like an Amsterdam club. Salme’s throbbing energetic music is something that you don’t usually hear before midnight, and then only filtered through layers of chemicals.
Her music reminds one of Grace Jones from the “Living My Life” and “Slave to the Rhythm” period. This music has a good electronic sampler / synthesized beat, with an emphasis on Salme’s vocals and additional voice-over material. This music is, bright, flashy, pulsating, colorful, slick, and danceable.
If you like energy-filled club music, catchy pop-melodies and if for you music is just something for having a good time, then you’ll have a good time listening to this.
