Make-Believe Machines
Moral Calculus

Music in its essence is a vibration in the air. We perceive this as sound – tone. This tone can be transcendental. Make-Believe Machines in the latest album Moral Calculus dives into the transcendental and produces music that goes beyond thought.

Lyrics and the thoughts that are behind them can be an important part of a song, but it is refreshing to hear music where one just not need to think: one only needs to experience.

When I first heard it, their music reminded me of the Music of the Spheres, as presented to me by Jacob Bronowski in his epic The Ascent of Man. Although I generally dislike the use of labels, let’s say that Make-Believe Machines’ music is a mix of new-age and classical along with a rich orchestration. Make-Believe Machines gives us an excellent album just to put on, sit back, and enjoy, while we are being transported to a more relaxed world.
